| The primary function of this position is graduate advising regarding the School of Architecture graduate programs, graduate college information, graduate admissions, advising, recruitment, and event planning with a focus on strategizing and planning for diverse and productive career trajectories, scholarly work, creative endeavors, and professional practices. The Advisor will work collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team, alumni advisory board, faculty, staff, and students to sustain the School’s well-established partnerships and develop new relationships with academic, professional, civic and cultural groups, and organizations to benefit the School’s diverse population of students and alumni. Graduate Advising - Advise graduate students in the architecture curriculum on all aspects of the graduate program, including but not limited to plan of study, concentrations, fellowships, and CPT.
- Liaison with the Graduate College to implement and update all graduate processes and policies and process all graduate paperwork in consultation with the Associate Director of Student Affairs, the Associate Director for Academic and Curricular Programming and the graduate college.
- Advise graduate students on transitioning from the University to finding career opportunities and related information about internships, full-time positions, leadership, employer engagement, and career exploration.
- Monitor and provide support, resources, and referrals for students on academic probation, including reminding students of petitioning deadlines and coordinating the submission of petitions to the Graduate College.
- Support international students through knowledge of the H1B/I20 Visa, CPT, OPT processes and inform them ofthe standards and practices of recruitment, language requirements, development, and international careermanagement
