The School of Architecture at North Carolina State University’s College of Design is seeking applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professors specializing in building technology and/or architectural structures.
The School offers a range of accredited and pre-professional degrees, including the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), Master of Architecture (M.Arch), Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture (BEDA), and a post-professional Master of Advanced Architectural Studies (MAAS). The College of Design also encompasses programs in Graphic and Experience Design, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Media Arts, Design and Technology, and offers Ph.D. and Doctor of Design degrees. The School is committed to research and engagement, exemplified by the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Initiative and the Peter A. Pappas Real Estate Development Program.
Successful candidates will teach at all levels, including design studios, core lecture courses in structural systems, building fabrication, construction materials, and building systems, and advanced seminars. Applicants must demonstrate potential in scholarly activities and teaching, with identified focus areas in building technology and/or architectural structures. These areas may cover innovative structural systems, material performance, and building systems integration. The School is highly interested in candidates with expertise in contemporary technologies such as computational design methods, artificial intelligence (AI), and interdisciplinary collaborations that advance building performance and design innovation.
