In 2021, efforts to create an interdisciplinary Educational Places Research and Design Studio in the Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University quickly identified the lack of accessible housing as an important material and spatial contributor to the crisis of public education. Over the next three years (2021-2024), undergraduate and graduate architectural design students and faculty, along with officials from regional school districts and other collaborators across the University, participated in a series of architectural design studios that envisioned housing for student teachers during and after their clinical residencies.
